ANC-PAC To Host Fundraiser for Congressman Brad Sherman "The question is not whether we (the United States) should recognize this genocide, but why we have not done so already." Congressman Brad Sherman (April 24, 2002 - Congressional Record)
May 11, 2007 Los Angeles, CA - The nation's largest grassroots Armenian American political action committee will host a fundraiser for San Fernando Valley Congressman Brad Sherman (D-27) on June 1, 2007. The Armenian National Committee - Political Action Committee (ANC-PAC) event will be held at the home of longtime ANC leaders, Mr. and Mrs. Nishan Bostanian of Granada Hills, California. Since his election to the U.S. Congress in 1997, Congressman Sherman has been a staunch advocate on issues impacting his Armenian American constituents in the San Fernando Valley. The Congressman's district includes Northridge, Granada Hills, Tarzana, Burbank and other areas with a high concentration of Armenian Americans. Congressman Sherman is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and presently serves as the Chairman for the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade. "The ANC-PAC is proud to be hosting an event to support Congressman Sherman's campaign," commented ANC-PAC spokesperson Ara Papazian. "His leadership and initiative on issues of importance to our community has been outstanding since his election to the U.S. House of Representatives. Clearly, the Congressman is among our very best friends on the powerful House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the very committee that will consider H.Res.106 (Armenian Genocide resolution) in the 110th Congress," Papazian added. Individuals who would like to support the ANC-PAC's event in support of Congressman Sherman's reelection campaign are encouraged to contact Nairi at (818) 366-5202 for more information and details about the event. The ANC-PAC is a non-partisan federally registered political action committee established to support campaign committees for Members of Congress who share the values of the Armenian American community. The ANC-PAC is at the forefront of efforts to ensure that the voice of the Armenian American community is clearly heard in our nation's capital. The ANC-PAC continues a century old tradition of Armenian Americans engagement on the public policy issues facing national political leaders, both in the U.S. Congress and the White House. |
